"World of Siberia" - an international festival of ethnic music and crafts. Until 2012, it was called the “Sayan Ring”. It has been held annually since 2003 in Shushensky, in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Among the boundless steppes of Tyva and Khakassia, between the rivers Yenisei and Shush', surrounded by ancient mounds under the hot sun of southern Siberia, the village of Shushenskoye of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is located - the birthplace of the International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts “World of Siberia”
"World of Siberia" is the largest festival of folk culture in Siberia, one of the largest international festivals in Russia. It takes place annually on the second weekend of July. Every year this festival gathers about 35,000 guests from all over the world, immersing them for 3 days in an atmosphere of ethnic traditions and diversity of cultures. The festival area is 21.5 hectares, the program is very extensive, there are a variety of sites: reconstruction of ceremonies, master classes in playing folk instruments, baking lessons in the Russian oven, master classes in cooking traditional dishes, dancing flash mobs.
Caused an increased spectator interest, which was held for the first time in 2003, the festival marked the beginning of the guests' acquaintance with the beauty and rich creative potential of Siberia: its music, dances, craftsmen. Today, musicians and artisans who preserve the cultural traditions of various ethnic groups of the world, were able to loudly declare themselves.
For three days, the participants and guests of the festival are immersed in the multicolor of national cultures and traditions, where the past and the present are woven together in a unique colorful pattern. The melodies and rhythms of exotic music, the sound of authentic instruments, the quaint drawing of incendiary folk dances, complete creative freedom and universal joyful mood create a festive atmosphere and give a feeling of involvement in something deep, truly folk and therefore authentic. For three days, the "World of Siberia" becomes a platform for the most prominent representatives of Russian and foreign ethnic music.
